Then I recommend doing what this customer did they turned half of their old garage into storage and the other half into a beautiful all season outdoor living space this customer went from not setting foot inside their garage in years to using it everyday the nice thing is you can go as extravagant as you want and it will still be functionable and look great
and the great thing is you still have lots of storage space
You may have to get rid of those old bikes and Christmas decorations that you don't use anymore. Then what we did was just make a false garage door in the ally and wall down the center or wherever you choose and support the remaining portion with pressure treated 6x6 beams and some beautiful 6x6 cedar cedar posts don't span the beams more then 15' 3' as code for snow in Vancouver then build a nice hand rail and a little set of stairs and your good to go however if your feeling more extravagant you can install some cool lighting and some wonderful soffit. This home owner chose to use antique windows and door to give a more rustic feel.
this is where the old garage door used to be we filled it in and made these shelves we also put a nice work bench on the other side of this storage room for odd jobs
